"There's a reason to be afraid of the dark."

The world you know is a lie. Despite everything you've been told and all you want to believe, there is much more to our average, mundane life than you realize. Very real dangers lurk in the shadows all around you. There's a second world right beneath the surface, filled with vampires, lycanthropes, monsters, and nightmares that go bump in the night. 

Shadowfell presents a campaign setting of modern horror and fantasy, using the d20 Modern game system. Within this world, factions of monsters, hunters and sorcerers battle one another for dominance of the world we know, techno-mages use computer searches to recover spells lost to the ages and industrious adventurers discover a brand new world beneath the streets of cities they've lived in their whole lives. How is this possible? The old stories, myths and folklore we all thought were bedtime stories have turned out to be true and as the walls of reality continue to thin, the fate of the world hangs in the balance. 

As in all times of need, heroes must arise to fight against the forces of shadow--evil that can mix ancient eldritch power with 21st-century technology. But not all heroes are human and not every source of evil originates from within the shadows. Werewolves, witches, psychics and even vampires are stepping up to defend the world they love from those that would destroy it.

This wiki details characters and events set in the campaign setting, and as such characters from every campaign have pages contained herein. There are four primary campaign set within the world of Shadowfell.

Mental [Campaign 1]

The world was nearly brought to its end in the cataclysmic battle that brought the town of North Salem, NY to ruins. The Lich Clive Talbot was stopped before he tore reality apart by Erica and her friends, but that victory came at a great cost. Six months have passed since those tragic events. Despite trying to make a normal life for herself as a new wife and mother, Erica finds herself pulled back into the life of shadow hunting as forces even more sinister than Clive begin lurking beyond the horizon. 

Urban Arcana [Campaign 2]

The Gates of Hell are opened and Lucifer has been released from his cage. After failing the stop the machinations of the demon Crowley and the surprising betrayal by VIrgil, Odessa and her friends find themselves in a desperate race against time, outrunning the legions of hell, survivng encounters with nightmarish terrors from beyond the edge of reality and doing battle with the ghosts of the past in an attempt to find a way to stop the Devil himself before he takes his throne as ruler of his New Hell.  

Dogs of War [Campaign 3]

After conquering the Faceless, her first semester at Shadowcrest Academy and death itself, Charli Palmer finds herself smack in the middle of a war between her Blackmoor Clan of Werewolves and the savage, cannibalistic Greymane Clan. As she struggles to ensure the survival of her friends and family against the Greymane's derranged Alpha, Charli must team up with an unlikely ally--the vampire Alberto Bianchi--in an effort to solve the mystery of Bentham's disappearance.   

Feywild [Campaign 4]

The quiet life of shy, bookish librarian Aria Watson is turned upside-down when she discovers she is a Fairy, leading to the death of her adoptive parents. Now on the run, Aria has fallen in with the roguish shadow hunter Jim Montgomery and her fey protector Aldous in an effort to discover the truth about her past and find the elusive realm of the Fairy Queen known of the Feywild. 

Lost Souls [Campaign 5]

After being uprooted from her quiet life in Salem to the bustling city of New Orleans, Harriet Spooner discovers that she is a witch and finds herself catapulted into a battle against the sinister Court of Owls, whose nefarious purpose remains as mysterious to her as their identity. 

Requiem [Campaign 6] 

Following hot on the heels of her brother, tenacious and spirited vampire hunter Ramona Kingsley stumbles upon a case in the small town of Cheyenne, Wyoming, never suspecting that she had fallen into a carefully constructed trap, masterminded by the sinsiter and mysterious vampire who calls himself Dracula.  After turning Ramona into the thing that she hates the most, the young vampire hunter finds herslef on a quest to stop the machinations of her enemy while also trying to uncover the secret of the history that binds the two of them--along with shy, bookish Francis Tatoppolis together.
